Joshua started Permit Depot after facing firsthand the challenges of building and permitting as a student and property owner. Raised in a working-class family and returning to UC Berkeley after a break due to financial hardship, he built Permit Depot to make the process easier for others like him—those navigating housing, development, and bureaucracy without a roadmap.
Alexa draws on years of experience in public policy, sustainable development, and community advocacy. A UC Berkeley graduate with a background in conservation and food systems, she bridges the gap between policy and practice to help us build partnerships that make permitting more efficient and equitable.
Megna supports our legal research and resource development at Permit Depot. As a JD candidate at the University of Illinois College of Law and a UC Berkeley alum, she helps us navigate complex regulatory landscapes by identifying relevant legal resources and connecting us with the right channels.
Herman helps leads engineering at Permit Depot, building our mapping tools and backend systems. He’s studying Computer Science and Mathematics at UC Berkeley and brings deep experience in computational modeling, systems architecture, and data engineering to power the tech that makes permitting easier.
